    This past spring my husband, Codie, and I got married. Two weeks before the wedding he had made a comment about how he hadn’t properly proposed to me. He took my engagement ring and pocketed it saying he was going to propose but wasn’t going to tell me when or where. My ring finger now felt naked having no ring on it. I even had to explain to a couple of people why I wasn’t wearing it anymore. A couple of days later he asked me if I wanted to go on, what I thought was going to be, a normal walk.      It was a very windy day and slightly chilly, so we put on our jackets and headed out.     This I believe: parents are not necessarily those who bring you into this world but the ones who teach you how to live in it.      Not everyone is raised by their parents. My aunt Tammy was like a mother to me and has always been more of a mother than my real mother. When I was six years old I moved out of my grandmother’s house to move in with my role model, Aunt Tammy. My aunt raised me from even before I moved in with her to the time I was almost thirteen years old. She had two kids of her own at the time and she was only twenty years old herself. My aunt hadn’t done it on her own but she was the only one there for me.
